Some of the cargo that was diverted to the East Coast during West Coast labor dispute that stopped up shipments is expected to stay there, reports the Puget Sound Business Journal.
"With each labor event, some diverted cargo has not returned, and this seems to be the case for some West Coast ports coming out of this most recent contract negotiation," according to Fitch Ratings Agency.
During the fourth quarter of last year, East Coast ports saw 10.2% more growth then West Coast ports, compared to a 1.6% difference the prior year.
